Arm and Thigh Lifting

Arm and thigh lifts, also known as brachioplasty and cruroplasty, respectively, are surgical procedures designed to reshape and tone the arms and thighs, removing excess skin and fat and improving the overall appearance of these areas of the body.

Brachioplasty (arm lift):

Brachioplasty is sought after by people who have sagging arms, often due to significant weight loss, aging or genetics. During the procedure, the plastic surgeon makes incisions along the inside of the arms, usually extending from the elbow to the armpit. Excess skin and fat is removed, and tissues are repositioned and sutured to create a more toned, firmer appearance in the arms. The procedure can be combined with liposuction for better results. Recovery involves some temporary swelling and discomfort, but many patients can resume normal activities within a few weeks after surgery.

Cruroplasty (thigh lift):

Cruroplasty is recommended for people who have sagging thighs, generally caused by significant weight loss, aging or hormonal changes. During the procedure, the surgeon makes incisions in the thighs, which may vary in length depending on the degree of sagging and excess skin. Excess skin and fat is removed, and tissues are repositioned and sutured to create a more toned, contoured appearance of the thighs. Just like brachioplasty, cruroplasty can be combined with liposuction for better results.

Recovery may take a few weeks, during which patients may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort, but most can resume normal activities gradually.

Both arm and thigh lift procedures can provide significant results, improving the appearance of the treated areas and increasing patients' self-confidence. However, it is important to emphasize that these procedures are important surgeries and involve risks, such as infection, excessive bleeding, changes in sensitivity and unsatisfactory healing. Therefore, it is essential that patients choose an experienced plastic surgeon certified by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and follow all pre- and post-operative guidelines carefully to ensure the best results and minimize risks.
